2023
I recently got my hands on a beautiful second-hand Taylor guitar. Since it didn’t come with built-in amplification and I wasn’t keen on making extensive DIY modifications, I decided to take a different approach. I installed passive piezo elements under the top, just beneath the bridge, and used custom-created impulse responses from the Taylor to recreate its acoustic sound.
2022
I developed a multi-timeframe strategy using Bollinger Bands and trained a selection of AI models with five years of historical data and the newly created strategy. The model continuously updated itself with new datasets. Automated buy and sell orders proved invaluable, protecting me when the market collapsed.
2021
The goal was to develop a minimalistic PHP script that placed trades on the Kraken exchange using API’s. It worked but despite various strategies it did not get very profitable on a 5min chart time. Mostly because of the trading fee’s combined with a bulish / side-way market. Will pick up later on a longer chart time.
Connect wireless switches, lights, Google Nest, Chromecast, Spotify and Mobile Phone. Run Home Assistantant Core in Docker on a Rasberry Pi 4b. Create dashboard with graphs in Grafana/InfluxDB. Flash ESP firmware on ESP8285 en ESP8266 wireless devices.
2020
Created a WiFi remote footcontroller for the Behringer XR18/Midas MR18. Works flawless. Sending, receiving and storing of patches. Still use it at gigs with my band.
During gigs I use some effect pedals and a tuner. Since I didn’t want to keep changing batteries and wanted as few cords as possible, I attached a 10A battery pack under the floorboard. Since the standard output was 5v via USB, I added a small stepup converter to provide the necessary 9v. This works perfectly and provides about 8 hours of power.
2018 – 2019
I finally managed to get my hands on the legendary Yamaha SY99 synthesizer. It was the flagship model when it came out in the early 1990s and remains highly acclaimed today. Despite its excellent condition, it could benefit from a new display, internal battery, and a USB floppy emulator. It was a fun and relatively easy job, and in the process, I learned a lot about the world of FM synthesis.
I’ve also compiled a lot of documentation, which you can find here.
